Recipe: Marjorie Barretto whips up a solid Chicken Cordon Bleu
MANILA, Philippines — What do celebrities such as Marjorie Barretto cook for the family at home when they find extra time on their hands? Why, classic family recipes, of course! For Marjorie, classic family recipes mean comfort dishes such as Chicken Cordon Bleu and Shrimp Fried Rice.
She shared these two recipes when Fly Ace Corporation, the exclusive distributor of Doña Elena Olive Oil, tapped her and fellow celebrity and now Representative of the 4th district of Leyte Richard Gomez to share their family-favorite recipes using different variants of Doña Elena Olive Oil.
She shared the recipe for her Chicken Cordon Bleu. More than the amounts of ingredients needed, which should be left to the preference of individual home cooks, Marjorie shared the techniques that makes the recipe work.
Marjorie’s version of Chicken Cordon Bleu stands out with its tender chicken breasts, wrapped around a savory combination of ham and cheese, all coated in a golden breadcrumb crust. This classic dish is elevated by the use of Doña Elena Pomace Olive Oil, which is not only ideal for frying but also adds a subtle richness to the chicken. This variant of olive oil likewise brings with it a host of health benefits, including a high content of antioxidants and heart-healthy monounsaturated fats.
