MANILA, Philippines — Chocolate and nuts go well together. This is why most brownies are mixed with chopped nuts, but this Choco-Peanut Fudge Brownies with Peanut Glaze brownie recipe is different.

It combines the indulgent flavors of chocolate and peanut, but draws its peanut flavor from crumbly choco-peanut candies (Chocnut is one of the popular brands) and from creamy peanut butter so as to not overpower the taste of chocolate.

What’s more: It comes with a delightful peanut glaze. Try baking a batch of these delicious brownies and taste the difference.

Choco-Peanut Fudge Brownies with Peanut Glaze

Ingredients:

For the brownies:

1/2 cup butter, softened

2 eggs

1 tbsp. water

1 box (500 grams) Maya Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix

8 pcs. choco-peanut candies, for topping

For the peanut glaze:

1 cup heavy cream or all-purpose cream

2 tbsps. creamy peanut butter

16 pcs. choco-peanut candies, crumbled

Procedure:

1. Prepare peanut glaze. Combine heavy cream, peanut butter and crumbled choco-peanut candies (Chocnut) in a small saucepan and heat over low to medium heat until thick. Transfer to a bowl to cool. Set aside.

2. Prepare Maya Chocolate Fudge Brownies. In a bowl, cream butter with eggs and water first before adding the brownie mix. Stir until well-blended.

3. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9” x 9” brownie pan and line with baking paper. Pour brownie batter into pan and spread evenly.

4. Scoop 2 tbsps. of Peanut Glaze into a piping bag and pipe stripes of glaze over the brownie batter. Take a knife and run it through the glaze to create a marble effect. Leave the extra glaze to serve on the side.

5. Distribute choco-peanut candy halves on top, allotting 1/2 pc. per brownie square. Sprinkle crumbled pieces on top.

6. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool before cutting into squares.

7. Serve Choco-Peanut Fudge Brownies with extra Peanut Glaze.

*Makes 16 servings.
