Brasserie Cicou whips up Chinese dishes with a French twist

-

MANILA, Philippines - To welcome the Year of the Dragon, the popular French chef Cyrille Soenen has prepared a most enticing and delectable menu — classic Chinese with a French twist.

Chef Cyrille starts off with an amuse bouche to charm the appetite, followed by a seafood char siu pork salad accented by prawn fritters and drizzled with a soy honey dressing. The soup course is “Eye of the Dragon,” a decadent bowl of duck consomme infused with truffle oil.

And for the main course, it’s a choice of US beef shortplate in soy ginger sauce with Szechuan peppers; steamed fish stuffed with prawns; or whole chicken specially cooked in lute’ and a spiced oyster broth.

Dessert is CiCoy — deep fried inane gao coated with almond cream and wrapped in kadaiff pasta.

Enjoy Kung Hei Fat Choi at Brasserie Cicou. The Chinese New Year’s menu is available for lunch and dinner from Jan. 22 to 29, at only P6,888 for a party of five.

For reservations, call 661-9200 or 661-9643 or text 0917-8858841.
