Ramen Nagi: Overall awesome Ramen

MANILA, Philippines - I was fortunate to score a seat during their pre-opening "stress test sessions.” Had the specialty of the house, the famed King Butao, with the cloudy broth. Quite possibly the new standard now for ramen in Manila, though still a good step behind other global chains like Ippudo.

The soup: excellent, thick, rich, cloudy. Every sip is so good it makes you wonder if they've mixed in some kind of psychotropic drug into the broth.

The noodles: excellent, tight thickness, right firmness. And as a bonus, it has this distinct, butter-like taste. Plus 10 richness points.

The tamago: disappointing, the only shortcoming. The egg was underwhelming and under flavored.

Overall, awesome ramen. Line up now.
