Oh, my feet! They should be as lovely as the rest of you!

STYLE S.O.S. - Tingting Cojuangco -
Hi, Lucy!

I’m worrried about my feet. They have darkened over the years. I’ve used whitening lotion and even tried the foot spa. You have beautiful feet. How do you take care of them?

– Roda

Oh, the feet! They should be as lovely as the rest of you! I make sure they are always clean, I hardly walk barefoot. I moisturize and slather my feet with lotion every night before I go to sleep, and I do not wear ill-fitting shoes. The latter is the main culprit behind ugly feet – they give feet those unbecoming corns and calluses. Consequently, they are the same ones that turn black. If you have corns and calluses, have them treated and supplement care with the use of lotion. In time, you should see and feel marked improvements. If your feet are extremely dry, try applying a liberal amount of Vaseline petroleum jelly, wrap them with the cling wrap from your kitchen, and wear socks over them so you can still walk comfortably. Let this treatment stay overnight, and do this once or twice a week. Always remember that a pedicure is not the only regimen that can make feet look pretty. It may be the fastest way, but it is also mainly complementary.

Beauty And The Breast
Dear Tingting,

I’m having a problem with my breasts. I used to breast-feed my son. Since then, I’ve noticed a dramatic change in my frontal anatomy. One of my breasts is big while the other is smaller. I’d like to try some commercial pills that would make my breasts bigger and firmer. But I’m afraid it won’t work and there might be side effects. I can’t afford surgery. I’ve tried so many things and this problem is affecting my self-confidence, especially now that I’m looking for a new job.

– Desperate Single Mom

Do not take any pills for breast augmentation or firmness. DO NOT! Find a padded or push-up bra, try Triumph, Wacoal or Bench.

Many women go through the same problem that you have because of child birth. Excel in your job and this will boost your personality through your achievements. Having a surgical procedure done on your breasts may make them stiff and artificial-looking. I believe the man who’ll fall in love with you will love you for your positive attributes and not just for your breasts. The company who will interview you will hire you not because of your figure but because of your educational background and training. You don’t even have to put your vital statistics in your application form.

Facing Syringoma
Dear Mary,

I’m in my 30s and my face has syringoma, specifically around the eyes. I’ve had treatments since college – electrocautery, laser, etc. But unfortunately, it’s still there – it won’t disappear or even diminish. In fact, the more it’s treated, the worse it gets. Is there a cream or ointment I could apply? Could you refer me to a very good dermatologist?

– Jeanne

I don’t think there are any ointments that can remove your syringoma. It’s best that you see a dermatologist. Try Vicki Belo, she’s one of the best dermas around. Call the Makati-main clinic of the Belo Medical Group at 817-7178, 817-9283.
