Eats a feast: 'Swicy' chicken, dessert pizzas, cheesy overload

MANILA, Philippines – Chicken lovers and adventurous eaters can check this food listing with the latest food promotions and offerings available in the metro.
Panda Express recently celebrated Happy Orange Chicken Day by bringing fans together for a day dedicated to its most iconic and best-selling dish.
The Original Orange Chicken, first introduced by Panda in 1987, revolutionized American Chinese cuisine, becoming a widespread cultural phenomenon. The crispy chicken wok-tossed in an irresistible sweet and semi-spicy orange sauce remains to delight fans and first timers alike. For many regulars, it has become the go-to order whether they're dining with family and friends or simply treating themselves to a favorite meal.
Its fiery counterpart, Hot Orange Chicken, made a "swicy" comeback last July 15, turning up the flavor and spice. It’s the Orange Chicken guests crave, loaded up with six times more crushed chilies and scorched dried chilies.
This year, Panda Express brings a playful twist to its anniversary celebration with an immersive Orange Chicken Kitchen experience at Panda Express SM Megamal. The experience features an All-Out Orange concept with decorated window decals, a claw machine, and a giant takeout pail where guests can take photos.
The celebration also comes with special offers for Orange Chicken lovers. Guests can enjoy 10% off with a minimum spend of P699 featuring Orange Chicken available at GrabFood.
Double the cheese
Subway Philippines has introduced its Double Cheese Series, a limited-time offering that adds twice the cheese to two of the brand's popular sandwiches.
Available from July 22 to October 20, the lineup features the Double Cheese Steak and Double Cheese Chicken, both offered in 6-inch, Footlong, and Wrap options.
The Double Cheese Steak combines sliced steak with double portions of cheese, fresh vegetables, and Chipotle Southwest sauce, all served on freshly baked bread.
Meanwhile, the Double Cheese Chicken offers the same cheese upgrade paired with chicken, fresh vegetables, and Subway's signature bread.
The sandwiches are available at all Subway Philippines branches nationwide, with prices starting at P210 for the Double Cheese Chicken and P255 for the Double Cheese Steak.
Sweet pizzas
For those who are game with a new twist to an old familiar favorite, Pizza Hut offers its Sweet Golden Collection, a limited-time lineup that transforms two well-loved favorites, mango cheesecake and turon, into indulgent pizzas served on
Pizza Hut's signature Mega Crunch Pizza crust.
Mango cheesecake has long been a crowd favorite, but have you ever imagined it in pizza form?
The Mango Cheesecake Bliss brings together a smooth, velvety base made with sour cream and cream cheese, complemented by mozzarella for added richness. Fresh mangoes add bursts of fruity sweetness, while marshmallows and cheesecake cubes create layers of creamy indulgence in every bite. Finished with a sweet cream drizzle, it delivers the tangy, sweet, and creamy flavors people love about mango cheesecake, now reinvented in an unexpected format.
Turon is already a beloved Filipino snack, but Pizza Hut gives it a surprising twist with the Golden Turon Pizza! The deep sweetness of caramelized banana meets fragrant strips of langka, instantly recalling the flavors of freshly made turon. Marshmallows and mozzarella melt into a rich layer across the pizza, while crispy thin-crust strips add an extra crunch to every bite. A light dusting
of powdered sugar completes the experience with just the right touch of sweetness.
These new pizzas are priced at P299 each and available for a limited time only.
Unique spin on Adobo
If you are one of the thousands of Filipinos who have — rightfully so — hopped onto the Alex Eala bandwagon, chances are high that this ever-popular Philippine dish has recently reentered your consciousness as well.
After all, the well-loved adobo has found its way to the sidelines of the Canadian Open in Toronto, where Eala captivated everyone right up to her last match against Belinda Bencic. In a stroke of marketing genius, tournament organizers decided to offer adobo to the predominantly Filipino crowd at the in-venue food stand. Inevitably, the bowls of white rice topped with adobo — adorned with a miniature Philippine flag — flew off the shelves as widely reported on the news and social media.
Who wouldn’t want a bite of this ubiquitous viand, considered as the Philippines’ unofficial dish? Be it the classic Chicken-and-Pork, Adobong Puti, Adobo Sa gata, or some other ingenious local variant, the typical working Filipino probably wouldn’t go through a week without partaking at least once.
Just when you thought you’ve tried them all, there’s another twist to the beloved classic that will put a smile on your face the way delectable home-cooked meals do.
Enter Adobee, a zesty, filling take on the timeless Filipino dish. A spoonful with a chunk of chicken or pork with bite-sized potatoes is all it takes to ensure your day is off to a good start.
Available for solo or sharing, Adobee features the perfect blend of sweetness, sourness and saltines to satisfy those tastebuds. The level of spiciness can be customizable from mild, medium, up to the surprisingly best-selling “Zuper” for that extra kick.
Mindful of your carb intake? Fret not. Each Adobee order comes mixed with the right amount of marble potatoes that will make you forget about that guilt-inducing extra white rice.
Additionally, with protein the name of the game, a hard-boiled egg comes on the side. To further please the palate, the dish is garnished with fried saba, Arroz a la cubana style.
Combining all these elements simply makes Adobee an all-arounder. It can be enjoyed by itself, with steaming-hot rice, or as the main star of your all-day Silog meal.
