PAGASA to host free planetarium shows, telescope viewings for Space Week
MANILA, Philippines — The country's official weather bureau, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), is celebrating Philippine Space Week this year with several free planetarium shows and telescope viewings.
PAGASA announced on its social media accounts its free planetarium shows at the Science Garden's PAGASA Planetarium in Quezon City.
Sessions can be caught from August 10 to 13 at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. It should be noted that the Planetarium at the Science Garden has an 88-seating capacity.
A free telescope viewing can be done on August 13 at the PAGASA Astronomical Observatory in UP Diliman from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
PAGASA reiterated that no reservations are necessary for either event and all guests will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The national weather bureau has held similar events in the past, most recently for National Astronomy Week last February, where free sessions were also held at PAGASA Planetariums in Cebu and Misamis Oriental.
