Baguio among cheapest year-end Asia-Pacific destinations — Agoda
MANILA, Philippines — Baguio is among the cheapest destinations around the Asia-Pacific region to visit at the end of the year, according to data collected by online travel agency Agoda.
The travel company released its own data, as of September 18, for average room rates for the 10 days of 2023 and found that Baguio City is one of the 10 cheapest destinations.
The Summer Capital of the Philippines is placed just outside the Top 5 as an average room in the City of Pines costs $95 (P5,380), just $3 (P170) more expensive than the rates in Goa, India.
Rates for the Top 4 cheapest year-end destinations in the Asia-Pacific region were all less than $70 (P3,964) with Hat Yai, a city in Thailand, the country that leads the poll, at $43 (P2,435).
Agoda's data showed that rooms in Baguio are cheaper than in Japan's Nagoya, Taiwan's Taichung, Australia's Melbourne and South Korea's Busan.
Baguio is popular because of its cool weather, famous parks like Camp John Hay and Mines View Park, its local night market, fresh strawberries and the must-try strawberry taho.
