A footwear with an attitude

MEANWHILE - MEANWHILE By Michelle Katigbak -
Isn’t everyone on the lookout for shoes that make the feet feel like they’re walking on clouds? Heck, I know I am. Every time I try a pair on now (save for stilettos, of course, which will never be comfortable!) I always see if I feel comfy in them. Comfy enough to say – shop all day or even walk around doing my errands. I’m a huge fan of flip-flops and sneakers that hug my feet and give me the protection I need while still providing comfort. Recently I’ve come across another innovative idea in footwear that I can definitely add to the comfort and function side of my closet. I’m sure you’ve seen these multi-colored pairs of funky footwear. They’re called Crocs and they make you feel like you’re walking on air.

Indeed, it wasn’t long ago that Crocs Inc., manufacturer of a new breed of comfort footwear, expanded to the Philippines. This funky, ubiquitous brand from the US is beloved by people from all walks of life for the comfort, fashion, fun, and functionality they offer and are now available at Planet Sports, Rustan’s Department Stores, SPF, True Value, and Nothing But Water Beach Stores. Yes, I’m sure you’ve seen them. But what are they? Good question!

Crocs were initially created when the three founders were searching for the perfect boat shoe. Something that was functional yet fashionable and could withstand getting wet, too. Their baby was the multi-colored multi-functional Crocs everyone has come to know and love today. As a matter of fact, in just three short years, Crocs has become a phenomenon loved by doctors, nurses, athletes, chefs, travelers, service professionals and of course, boaters.

Why are they such a hit? Well, Crocs footwear provides comfort and performance through its unique materials and designs. All Crocs shoes feature Crocs’ proprietary closed cell resin, Croslite, which warms and softens with body heat and molds to the user’s feet. The European styling of the orthotic heel, built-in arch support, and tarsal bar position your feet for the ultimate in foot comfort and health. Crocs are perfect for boating, diving, water sports and everyday wear. They will not mark floors (or boat decks) and are ideal for people who are on their feet all day and need light comfortable shoes. Crocs are sold in more than 40 countries globally and come in a wide array of colors and styles.

Upholding its strong product message – designing a new breed of footwear that incorporates fashion, function, and fun in a wide range of styles and colors – the footwear innovator has moved on to develop a unique collection of seven styles, plus an expanded selection for kids. They’re definitely worth having in your closet when you’re looking for that multi-functional footwear that’ll cushion your feet through a long hard day. Still not convinced? Here are 10 good reasons to own your own pair of Crocs:
1. They’re extra soft and comfortable.
2. They weighs less than 6 ounces.
3. Air ventilation ports keep your feet cool and comfy.
4. They have non-marking soles.
5. They’re resistant to bacteria and odor (which will keep your friends happy).
6. They’ve got an ultra-hip, Italian style with molded foot support.
7. They’re slip-resistant.
8. They can be easily sterilized in water and bleach.
9. They’re so easy to maintain.
10. And finally, water and sand pass easily through vents.
To be sure, Crocs is the do-anything, go-anywhere pair of shoes. But, don’t let me convince you. Let your feet decide, slip them into a pair of these light, durable slippers.<
