Bagaberde...Eating or Drinking Place?

- Patrick Martin of Young Star Magazine -
The name Bagaberde comes from the words baga, the coals over which food is cooked, and berde, the green color of our natural surroundings. This name fittingly describes this new restaurant and bar in Pasig.

MAIN COURSE

Baga
. Before the stove, Filipino cuisine was traditionally cooked over hot coals. At Bagaberde, you will find native favorites like Crispy Pata, Kare-Kare, and Bageberde’s Classic or Crispy Sisig, among many other local delicacies—all cooked the old-fashioned way. One whiff of the food and you will remember Lola’s home cooking.

Berde
. Enjoy your meal in an idyllic setting with a picturesque view of Antipolo. Despite being in the city, the place retains the charm of a quintessential provincial abode. Mickey Bernardino of Bagaberde describes it as a "secret garden," where one can steal away and momentarily escape the big city.

DESSERT

Bagaberde is, in many ways, a homecoming to the simpler way of life we’ve forgotten. Take some time out of your busy schedule and come home to good Filipino food in a traditional setting.

SIDE DISHES…

Check please…

On average, most dishes on the menu cost around P100.

Seeing stars…

Binibining Pilipinas-International Georgina Sandico, Piolo Pascual, and The Wiseguys have all been caught enjoying a meal here.

Like a can of sardines…

The dining crowd packs the house between four and eight o’clock in the evening, and more so on weekends. A little later in the evening, the younger folks arrive to hang out.

The party pooper…

Although the place can accommodate a big crowd of people, the parking lot, unfortunately, can’t.
