The Teppanyaki craze is in town

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Wafu, the country’s chic and fine modern Japanese restaurant, is definitely stirring another craze for all teppanyaki lovers.

In celebration of its first anniversary, Wafu invites everyone to enjoy and savor its Teppanyaki Omakase.

As the only Japanese restaurant doing the Teppanyaki Omakase, Wafu’s Teppanyaki Omakase buffet is a 12-course, sit-down, Japanese-style iron grill feast of prime beef, pork, seafood and veggies with a complimentary round of sake, wine or beer.

The buffet comes with a sushi sampler, dessert, unlimited fried rice, and drinks.

Unlike traditional buffets where you can order anything, guests are required to go through all 12 courses first before they can order more of their favorites on the menu.

Miso soup is served as the first course, followed by Wafu House Salad with onion dressing and crispy salmon skin.

The third course is Tofu Steak, seared just right on both ends, topped with a sweet sauce and greens. US Hanger Steak comes as the fourth course, and is served with shimeiji mushrooms and wasabi pepper sauce. You will surely love the tenderness and flavor of the steak.

Blue Marlin with wasabi mayo is served as the fifth course.  Enjoy the soft and milky texture of this blue marlin concoction. The sixth course is Hard Seared Sous Vide Chicken, served with just the right amount of teriyaki sauce.

Salmon lovers will definitely make a go with the seventh course — Grilled Salmon on spinach, topped with a special sauce that’s sweet and creamy.  The eighth course is the all-time favorite Ebi Tempura with a thin crunchy layer of batter and a good amount of shrimp meat.

Love the quality of the meat for the ninth course. This is US Tenderloin Saikoro style. Guests may request to have it cooked medium for that perfect taste.

How about Dorado Fish with house made mango-onion salsa for the 10th course? Love the meatiness and freshness of the fish with the light sauce.

Second to the last is the Sushi Sampler, and finishing off with Wafu’s homemade ice cream of the day.

Teppanyaki has never been this good and great. Savor the sumptuous 12-course, sit-down Teppanyaki Omakase until December, only at Wafu.
