Negros Navigation launches 'Pinoy Byaheng Barko'
MANILA, Philippines - Negros Navigation, one of the oldest and largest shipping companies in the country’s passenger transport business, recently launched its new advocacy campaign “Pinoy Byaheng Barko, Sakay Na.”
It is a youth-oriented project where musically inclined individuals are encouraged to join an original song and music video competition.
The company is supporting the youth sector because it is the most active and dynamic group in the country, not to mention the largest segment.
More importantly, it wants to provide the youth an outlet for their boundless energies and creative talents and channel these into good use.
The original songs should have a nationalistic theme that encourages sea travel in the country. It should highlight the natural beauty of the country, the people, its diverse culture and traditions, and the thousands of magnificent tourists destinations.
Why sea travel? The Philippines is an archipelago and is made up of thousands of islands, thus it is easier, more practical and enjoyable to travel around the country by sea.
The awarding ceremonies will be at the final event of the 5th Student Advertising Congress on Jan. 28-29, 2012 at the Rockwell Tent.
