Holiday season is on at Waterfront

MANILA, Philippines - Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino opens its doors to the holiday season with its annual tree lighting ceremony. 

Taking inspiration from the theme “Christmas Wonderland,” Waterfront’s trees are colorful, quirky and adventurous.

Seeking to outdo its concept every year in originality and magnitude, the trees are complemented by elements from the tale itself such as mushrooms, teacups, chairs and mini-versions of the characters themselves.

This year, the hotel also adds another exciting dimension to its Yuletide surprises: the “Gingerbread Walk.” 

Waterfront’s team of chefs led by Executive Chef Alessio Loddo, Group Pastry Chef Gabriel Garcia and Executive Sous Chef for Banquet Alan Chan decided to add a new twist to this year’s festivities by converting the entire Gourmet Walk into a giant gingerbread house. 

Now, guests can stroll along the Gourmet Walk, visit any of its wining and dining options or simply have their pictures taken for a memorable holiday experience. 

To make the Gingerbread Walk experience even more complete, the chefs have prepared a number of treats available for sale at Madeleine such as Christmas cakes, cookies and pralines; premium items from La Gondola such as risotto, pasta, grissini, flavored olive oil and balsamic reductions; chili sauce and XO sauce from Tin Gow; sushi gari (ginger pickles) and kyu chan (Japanese cucumber pickles) from Mizu, and other ingredients and condiments that guests might want to take out for some home cooking this season.

No Waterfront Christmas would be complete without its signature Puto Bumbong and Bibingka Corner. 

The signature nipa stall at the hotel’s lobby is open from 2 to 8 p.m. daily and also offers other native delicacies such as puto maya, putong pulo, maja mais, pandan biko, pitsi-pitsi and cassava cake.

This year, Waterfront sets the scene for a lovely and fanciful season. A wonderful variety of gastronomic adventures and activities that spread the holiday cheer awaits family and friends.
