What's a perfect week for you?

WORDS WORTH - Mons Romulo -

A perfect week for me is just being with my loved ones in a faraway place where I don’t have to check my cell phone every time or worry about deadlines. A perfect week for me is reading good news about our country and seeing our elected and appointed officials in government working together for our country’s good. A perfect week for me is being able to accomplish whatever task needs to be done.  We all want to have a perfect week. We all need to have and create as much as possible more perfect weeks in order to survive this challenging world of ours.

Atty. REYNALDO A. MACLANG, Allied Bank president: For you to have a perfect weekend means that the weekdays before have been stress-free and self-satisfying in terms of accomplishment — whether in your job or for yourself. Similarly there should be no nagging problem that is anticipated for the coming week, otherwise you will just be preoccupied and anxious. The weekend should be a retreat, preferably to an intimate place with family in an environment that is serene and refreshing, although there should also be some time for golf from which you can come out invigorated.

ANNETTE CORONEL, GM, Establishment Resto/Lounge/Angler: My idea of a perfect week is spending time with my kids and sport fishing, which I started early last year and became a member of the Philippine Game Fishing Foundation (PGFF). Fortunately, I won second runner-up in the 2008 Angler of the Year, a record catch of porcupine pufferfish, weighing 2.5 kgs., line category: 12 lbs. and my team and I won the 2008 Light Tackle Angler of The Year. I’m also a member of Bass Anglers Sportsman Society of the Philippines (Bassphil).

ANTHONY YUPANGCO, chef, Domani CEO, Art Culinaire distributor: For me, starting the day bright ends my day right. A perfect week is similar to the Christmas holidays in 2008 when I started the week finishing what needed to be done before a long break. Imagine waking up in the middle of the week with nothing in mind but enjoying every moment of the day. So I look forward to every break this year!

ZARINA NUVAL, model: My idea of a perfect week starts off with me accomplishing my exercise regimen each morning and having my protein shake with fruits right after it, doing some cool modeling gigs, and finishing with quality time with my family and friends at the park or beach on the weekends.

RIMA OSTWANI, customer development manager, Rustan’s: A perfect week for me is having the drive, passion and motivation to work hard, get things done and achieve results. Alongside this is making time to enjoy, have fun and unwind with family and friends. A balance is what I consider perfect.

NIVAT CHANTARACHOTI, GM, Thai Airways in the Philippines: My idea of a perfect week is getting work done and spending time with close friends on the weekend. I make sure that I get the most of my weekend by doing something apart from my weekday routine, either by  going out and meeting with friends or staying in and inviting other people to join us.

KATA INOCENCIO, executive producer and co-host, The 700 Club Asia/ vice president of production, CBN Asia: My week starts on a Sunday which is the original start of the week, that’s why calendars begin with Sunday and not Monday.  It starts perfectly with rest and time well-spent with my family.  It is capped by a time of worship and thanksgiving and getting instructions from the Lord during our Sunday service at the Victory Christian Fellowship.  It is then followed by five days of fulltime Christian service using the medium I learned in school and practiced as a professional for 22 years —producing the nightly TV program The 700 Club Asia and hosting the same, as well as co-hosting Diyos at Bayan with Bro. Eddie Villanueva.  Saturday, the last day of the week, is time for my other advocacies, organizing the Media Pillar of the Philippines, leading my bible study group, and of course, my favorite advocacy — having a date with my children in the movies, shopping, playing and eating.  These, I do every week, and it is just perfect!  It is only disrupted when I have to attend to my other advocacy, and now my greatest passion, going to the land of Israel.  And then, my week becomes even more perfect!

BABSIE A. ARAGON, assistant VP, Philippine Airlines product loyalty marketing support department: My idea of a perfect week is a good workout in the morning (that’s every day), stress-free days at the office, and quiet evenings.
