'Halamanan Sa Bakuran' Project

MANILA, Philippines - Quezon City Vice Mayor Herbert Bautista accepts the Guide to Urban Gardening pamphlets, various vegetable seeds, 1,000 mango seedlings, and 1,000 langka seedlings from Manila Seedling Bank president Chito Bertol in support of the vice mayor’s “Halamanan sa Bakuran” project. Aimed at alleviating the current food crisis in the country, the project encourages QC residents to plant vegetables in their backyards for their own consumption. Other systems suggested for the project are: keyhole gardening, containerized vegetable gardening, the use of eco waste for composting purposes coupled with additional vegetable garden growing tips for self-sufficiency within QC.
