MANILA, Philippines — Celine Dion's sister has given an update on the singer's health condition as the latter continues to battle a rare neurological disease, saying the singer "doesn't have control over her muscles."

Claudette Dion, Celine's older sister who is also a singer, spoke to Canadian media outlet 7 Jours to give the latest on Celine, whom she said was still working hard despite suffering from Stiff Person Syndrome or SPS.

"In our dreams and hers, the goal is to return to the stage. In what capacity? I don't know," Claudette said, noting vocal cords and the heart are both muscles. "It's a one out of a million case, the scientists haven't done that much research because it hasn't affected that many people."

Celine revealed last year that she was diagnosed with SPS, which causes muscle stiffness as well as spasms.

If left untreated, SPS can potentially lead to difficulty walking and significantly impact a person's ability to perform routine daily tasks.

Celine canceled her "Courage World Tour" dates from 2023 to 2024 to continue her daily physical therapy because SPS was affecting her singing.

Two months ago, the "Titanic" singer was seen in public for the first time in almost four years. She attended an ice hockey game and graced the final show of fellow singer Katy Perry's two-year Las Vegas residency.
