'Hataw Fitness' resumes
MANILA, Philippines - As part of its ongoing campaign to promote a healthy lifestyle, Parañaque City reinvigorated its “Hataw Fitness,” a 45-minute aerobic exercise session held every Friday from 7 to 7:45 a.m. at the city hall grounds.
Launched last year by the City Health Office headed by Dr. Olga Virtusio, the program provided city officials and employees an opportunity to get a good exercise without paying gym fees. The program was temporarily halted during the election season.
Resuming last May 28, the revitalized morning aerobics presented more intensity, variety, and perks, and had more people participating in the session. Apart from the members of the Diabetic Club, Health Office personnel and employees from the different departments and health centers in the 16 barangays each sent three of their people to join in. As in the preceding sessions, participants promptly returned to their respective work stations at the end of the dance workout, on or before the start of business hours (before 8 a.m.).
“Health is wealth! We will continue with these aerobic exercise sessions to provide our employees with more ways to be healthy for a better, happy, long life, and greater productivity at work in the service of our constituents,” says Mayor Jun Bernabe.
