It’s ‘Truly Negros’ at Ayala Malls

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Ayala Malls brings to the spotlight the best of Negros Island, as it hosts the much-awaited 30th Negros Trade Fair, ongoing until Sept. 20, at the Glorietta Activity Centers, Makati City.

The Negros Trade Fair is a non-profit program of the Association of Negros Producers, Inc. (ANP), an organization that represents and promotes the interests of producers and entrepreneurs based in Negros. The ANP is also behind the Bulawan Awards, an annual product design competition that recognizes the outstanding products of its members.

With the theme “Truly Negros,” it features over 80 selling booths that will display the creativity, skills and entrepreneurial spirit of small and medium enterprises.

Taste the island’s best cuisine — the renowned chicken inasal, sweets and other delicious pasalubong goodies — that have made Negros famous. Take home the beautiful handicrafts, natural and organic products, paintings, furniture finds and home accessories, as well as fashionable pieces produced by talented Negros entrepreneurs.

The Negros Trade Fair has also put together a series of events and special activities like the interactive art wall, sugar photo exhibit and installation, an hourly electronic raffle, and the launching of the “Kabalo Ka?” mobile game app, among others.

The Negros Trade Fair kicked off with “Arima! The Governor’s Night” on Sept. 15 at the Activity Lobby of Glorietta. Guests were treated to a special night of music, art, and food prepared by the most celebrated and innovative Negrense chefs, plus celebrity chefs Margarita Fores, Tony Boy Escalante, Fernando Aracama, Cyrille Soenen and JP Anglo.

The Negros Trade Fair will host a mini MassKara celebration on Sept 18 at 4 p.m. The 9th Tipon Negrosallians, a fellowship forum for Manila-based alumni of the University of St. La Salle and St. Joseph School, is set for Sept. 19 at 4 p.m.
