MANILA, Philippines - Eggs are one of nature’s healthiest and most versatile foods. Rich in protein, iodine, and essential vitamins, they make the perfect base for countless meals and snacks. And since eggs are also versatile and adaptable cooking ingredients, you can get creative and whip them into a variety of savory dishes. Get cracking with these five appetizing and easy-to-cook egg recipes from the San Miguel Great Food Club.

SALTED FISH FRIED RICE

Ingredients:

1 tbsp. Magnolia Nutri Oil 

1 tbsp. minced garlic

5 pcs. dried salted fish,

            fried and flaked

1 pc. Chinese sausage, diced

1/2 cup carrots, diced

5 cups cooked rice

3 pcs. Magnolia Happy Eggs 

1/2 cup onion leeks, thinly sliced

1 cup iceberg lettuce, cut into

   strips pinch of ground black pepper

Procedure:

To make the fried rice:

Heat oil in wok

Saute garlic until brown

Add salted fish, chorizo and carrots

Add rice and mix

Beat eggs in a bowl

Make a well in the center of the rice mixture

Pour in beaten eggs and wait until eggs start to set

Gently fold eggs in the well and continue to cook

Once eggs are almost set, mix into rice

Add scallions and lettuce leaves, mix well

Season with pepper

Transfer onto serving plate

To make egg net:

1pc.  Magnolia Brown Egg

Beat egg gently avoiding too much foam

Drizzle beaten eggs onto a hot non stick pan using the tines of your fork making crisscross patterns

Allow to cook

Place egg net on top of the mixed rice. Serve.

EGG KANI SALAD SANDWICH

Ingredients:

6 pcs. Magnolia Brown Eggs
6 pcs. kani sticks

1/2 cup Magnolia Real mayonnaise

1 tbsp. wasabi paste

1 cup cucumber, peeled, seeded

           and cut into thin strips

1 pc. ripe mangoes, peeled

          and cut into thin strips

2 cups iceberg lettuce cut into thin strips
4 pcs. Croissant bread

Procedure:

Place eggs in a pot with tap water.

Let boil then reduce heat to simmer. Continue cooking eggs for 7 minutes.

Drain eggs from water then let cool. Peel off shell. Set aside.

Shred kani sticks. Set aside.

Mix mayonnaise and wasabi paste in a bowl.

Add shredded kani and cucumber into mayo mixture.

Add in roughly chopped eggs and mango strips.

Split croissant.

Put some shredded lettuce on the spilt side of the bread

Spoon the egg-kani mixture.

Serve.
