Greenwich is for the entire barkada

MANILA, Philippines - Studies indicate that people tend to eat more when they are in groups. But you don’t really require scientific studies to explain that fact. When you’re with good company, the mood is comfortable and friendly, spirits are high, and it follows that appetites are whetted.

This, to us, seems to be the rationale behind the Greenwich Pizza Barkada campaign. Most recently Greenwich introduced popular radio DJ Gino Quillamor, radio and TV personality Andi Manzano and model/ entrepreneur Marco Lobregat as additional members of the celebrity group that promotes Greenwich. With Greenwich Pizza’s main man, actor John Lloyd Cruz, they will endorse Greenwich Pizza, including its new thin-crust variant.

But why add a thin-crust version to the company’s already popular line of pizzas?  “We are constantly on the lookout for how we can satisfy the cravings of our customers,” says Cel Javelosa, assistant brand manager for pizza. “The new Greenwich Pizza Thins is our answer to the requests of pizza enthusiasts who wish to savor our rich pizza toppings in a whole new way.” She shares that the challenge was to create a crust that would remain crisp even when the toppings are added. And indeed, we concur that it can be annoying if the crust gets soggy so that the toppings spill out.

 â€œIt took us about a year to develop the product and make it ready for the market,” says Cel. “But you can be sure that at Greenwich, we use the freshest, high-quality ingredients to ensure product consistency.” She notes that what makes their new thin-crust variant different is that it is not oily. Moreover, it remains crisp from the first to last bite. The new Pizza Thins are available in Signature Special, Hawaiian, Pepperoni and All Meat, and prices are very friendly at P189 for a double-sized pizza.

At the launch of the new Greenwich Pizza Thins at R Space in Makati City, John Lloyd Cruz was joined by the newest endorsers. Their high energy was infectious and there was a lot of friendly banter. Of course, we were served the new Greenwich thin-crust pizza variant.

Our judgment? We appreciate the effort that went into creating the thin, crisp crust. We know very well that the balance between a crisp crust and hard crust may be difficult to achieve.

So, well done Greenwich Pizza. But do you know what we’d like to see next? A Greenwich Pizza barkada of senior-citizen celebrity endorsers joining your younger barkada. We know that they enjoy Greenwich, too.
