A cheesy Pinoy Christmas

-

MANILA, Philippines - In an effort to bring back a yummy and inspiring Christmas despite the devastation brought by typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng, Kraft Eden introduced a new way for creative and generous Filipinos to help those in need.

Eden inspired people to take on the mission of saving Christmas for families who have experienced circumstances that may prevent them from celebrating.

The cheese brand recently launched the website, www.sarapngbuhay.com, where Filipinos can sign up and share their own renditions of cheese-inspired dishes. This effort also brings together the innate kitchen creativity of Pinoys to make 5,000 cheese-inspired dishes to beat the previous Guinness world record of 4,668 set by India. Various culinary institutions such as Regina Carmeli, St. Paul College, Centro Escolar University, Emilio Aguinaldo College, La Consolacion College and Arellano University gave their support to this project.

“We believe that in this time of challenges, it is important to remember not what we have lost but what we still have as a nation. We hold in our hands the innate Filipino creativity and love for food that when put together can empower our pride for our country,” says Alex Tacdera, category manager cheese and spoonables, Kraft Foods Philippines.

Eden is organizing the first “Keso de Gallo” where Filipinos will use Eden cheese to whip up a feast that will bring joy and delight to as many families as possible.

“As we officially kicked off this project from Kraft Eden, we commissioned a chef from Manila Hotel to create a full-course meal that featured cheese from appetizers, to main course, to desserts,” enthuses Tacdera.

Kraft Eden has been known to carry high-quality taste as well as optimum nutritional value. That’s why from simple snacks to sophisticated main courses, Kraft Eden cheese products great-tasting meals by making simple recipes extra special. Lending itself to a variety of dishes, the use of Kraft Eden cheese products is as limitless as the imagination of its user. Dec. 14 is going to be a red-letter day for Filipinos as they try to outdo India in whipping up the most number of cheese dishes and eventually make it to the book of world records.
