HONG KONG — Host-actress Kim Chiu commemorated her 34th birthday by having a photoshoot where she rocked a different hairstyle.

In a series of monochrome pictures on social media, Kim sported a pixie cut and wore mostly black leather clothes as she posed for photographer Mark Dookie Ducay and creative director Eugene David.

Accompanying the photos was a colored video where Kim, now in a red jacket, spicing things up with a vintage red car in tow.

For the photoset's caption, Kim used a quote attributed to actress Marilyn Monroe.

"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."

"Another year, another reason to make things right and just enjoy life itself!" Kim added on her own.

Among those sending their birthday greetings to Kim were Bela Padilla, Ruby Ruiz, Jugs Jugueta, Jericho Rosales, Jake Cuenca, Vicki Belo, Michelle Dee, KaladKaren, Aiko Melendez, Bianca Gonzalez, Melai Cantiveros, Angeline Quinto, Francis Libiran, Michael Leyva, Andi Manzano, and Bini's Aiah.

Coincidentally, Kim's co-host on "It's Showtime" Anne Curtis — herself not afraid to style her hair in different ways — also posted a series of photos sporting a shorter hairdo.

"Ube haze or Sabaw fresh from Siargao," Anne wrote in her caption, referencing the purple dress she was wearing.
