Fendi launches Kids Spring/Summer 2024 collection
MANILA, Philippines — Even kids want to be fashionable! Or at least their parents want them to be.
So fashion houses create kids’ collections apart from men’s and women’s collections. One such collection is the Fendi Kids Spring/Summer 2024 Collection, which looks up to the brand’s Men’s and Women’s Winter 2023 Holiday Collection proposals for versatile and classic garments, while enhancing the iconic kids staples for fun and statement touches.
The brand created a timeless wardrobe for its Kids line through neutral colors—Trench camel, Yale navy blue, Chalk white, denim — on classic fabrics that become refined ready-to-wear essentials. New basics breathe life into a unisex and multipurpose collection, with details and accent pieces that make perfect mix-and-match outfits.
A trench is highlighted by the iconic FF logo jacquard pocket, while the signature Go-To jacket in beige gabardine features a removable nylon FF logo hoodie. A pleated mini skirt and a long-sleeved dress made with the same fabric feature touches of monogram and the peculiar mini-Baguette bag accessory on the front. The accessory can be removed and re-attached at pleasure. By now a signature of the Kids line, the same Baguette detail is ever-present in the collection and animates tracksuit sets for boys and girls and feminine garments in white cotton poplin.
For spring and summer, the brand creates new classics, such as wool pied-de-poule bomber jackets designed for boys and girls. For boys, it is paired with Bermuda pants and a knitted cardigan in camel and cream, while the black-and-white girl’s version dresses a mini skirt and matching gilet. Similarly, a college reinterpretation of the brand's logo pervades knitwear sets, denim shirts and shearling outerwear that create fun varsity looks.
Reinterpreting another iconic print, polka dots enliven feminine garments in Rosa Confetto pink and black crepe de chine, featuring ruffle details and the brand's logos hidden among the black dots. On a similar style, jersey dresses are covered with impalpable plumetis fabric with lace detail, giving the same effect of polka dots.
The collection is infused with a relaxed after-school attitude, thinking about how kids like to spend their free time: playing sports, listening to music, reading manga comics, or playing the guitar. The latter gives a slight rock twist to some of the pieces, such as a biker jacket in black leather paired with a pleated pants-skirt with silver hardware for the ultimate teenager look.
Similarly, free time is interpreted through more sporty garments, including jerseys and tracksuits printed with a black-and-white pattern inspired by the world of animé, illustrating manga characters dressed in Kids collection items. The same characters appear in bright colors and are printed on T-shirts, creating the fictional "After Class Club" for "The cool kids raised in the FF world."
Knitwear spans from the softest mohair wool sets (sweater, hat, leg warmers, and gloves) with the brand's Mirror stripes to lightweight cotton crochets. Shorts and top in Giallo impero yellow stripes make the cutest beach combination, while a more mature teenager ensemble is crocheted with an all-over FF motif in Acquamarina turquoise and Hollywood pink.
A graphic animalier pattern taken from the Women’s Winter 2023 Holiday Collection makes it to the Kids’ Collection and is re-colored in cheerful tones on girly dresses for the warm season. Similarly, a digital tie-dye print in blue and yellow brightens nylon or popeline sets for boys, while a pink and mint green version is featured on a ruffled cut-out dress for girls. The summer wardrobe for boys follows the same themes and hues: stripes in blue and yellow for cotton and cashmere sweaters, whispered FF logo prints on denim and printed poplin are important essentials.
The teddy bear, icon of the Kids collections, is multiplied on a printed T-shirt that makes it to the baby garments as well. Bears preparing for night-time become the cutest pattern for baby unisex onesies and a soft sleeping bag, while supple cashmere sets with blanket cuddle babies into sleep. The overall baby line follows the themes of the junior one with a selection of mini-me pieces, with a similar but softer palette and matching patterns and shapes.
Signature shoes of the Kids collections are reinterpreted in summery and casual versions through different fabrics featuring the FF logo, from classic jacquard to denim to Subalpine. Among them, biker boots and trainers as well as the new rubber toecap shoe in the slip-on or ballerina version. Colibrì ballerinas and sandals are enlivened with plumetis inserts and the prints of the season, together with fresh new colours of the running-style and strap sneakers.
To decorate the kids’ room, three different sizes of toy baskets reinterpret iconic visuals of the collections: classic FF logo, Pequin stripes with mink rabbit ears and the cutest shearling teddy bear, all featuring bright yellow interior. In addition, in an exclusive limited edition of few pieces, a teddy bear crafted from the softest mink taken from the brand's stocks is sculpted with a tonal FF logo in an exquisite workmanship.
