Ricky Reyes Institute: One-stop shop for training and livelihood

-

MANILA, Philippines - The Ricky Reyes Learning Institute (RRLI), with branches in Cubao, Quiapo, San Juan, and Alabang, prepares students for employment with professional training for basic and advanced courses in cosmetology and hotel and restaurant services.

RRLI offers a range of courses in cosmetology, including ladies’ haircutting, men’s haircutting, hot oil and scalp treatment, facial makeup, hair styling, hair perming, hair coloring, manicure and pedicure, body massage, facial treatment, hand spa/foot spa/body scrub, hair straightening and rebonding, body bleaching, and temporary hair removal. Advanced courses include creative hair styling, creative nail design, and advanced haircutting. Package courses for cosmetology are also available, including hairdressing (NCII and NCIII) and beauty care (NCII).

RRLI also offers hotel and restaurant service courses, such as NCII-level training in bartending, food and beverage, and housekeeping.

RRLI courses are comprised of three components: theory, practical exercises, and hands-on training. Students start off with theoretical lectures, ensuring the mastery of concepts, before moving on to intensive practical exercises in laboratory sessions. Only after proving themselves competent in the exercises can students progress to hands-on training.

In haircutting, for instance, students have to undergo graded practice sessions, first on a head of yarn glued to a piece of paper, then on a mannequin with human hair. After mastering the different techniques with these exercises and getting a passing grade, they can move on to actual practice. In hotel and restaurant services, students practise on a suite laboratory with a bedroom, a living room, a bar, and a dining room, before they can apply for internship and on-the-job training.

“We have beefed up our training sessions to make sure our students are fully equipped with the proper skills before they go out into the real world,” asserts hair guru Ricky Reyes. “We also invite foreign experts to the school to conduct seminars for highly specialized topics.”

Courses are open to high school graduates and multiple courses may be taken simultaneously. Affordable tuition rates range from P6,000 to P10,900 per course, and P15,000 to P40,000 for package courses, with flexible payment schemes for enrollees.

RRLI is accredited by TESDA and allied with two international placement agencies that help students secure employment here and abroad. For inquiries about courses at the Ricky Reyes Learning Institute, check out www.rickyreyes.com or e-mail info@rickyreyes.com.
