For eye creams, apply a little at a time, all the time

Dear Lucy,
My problem area is the eye. This is to be expected due to aging, but is there an exercise around the eyes you can recommend for those not keen on having plastic surgery? Eye creams can be really expensive, too, especially if you go for the branded ones.
Lilia
Contrary to popular belief, eye creams are not all that expensive. They may seem pricey considering that they come in such tiny pots, but since you only need a very small amount to apply around the eye area, they do go a very long way. The key to applying eye creams (and I guess the same can be generally said about any facial beauty regimen) is the regularity and consistency of use. It wont really help if you apply the whole pot of cream in one sitting if you only do so once a week, you will be no better than when you first started. A little at a time, all the time, is the way to go.
As for exercises, I would be wary of trying out any even if there were some supposedly good ones. A majority of plastic surgeons would say that the less you pull and tug your skin (especially around the eye area), the more supple and firm it will be. Time was when makeup artists (think as far back as our greatgrandmas time) very gingerly handled the face of the woman they were applying makeup on, for fear that any unnecessary tugging or pulling would hasten the aging process.
I believe eye creams did not become popular for no reason. If surgery is not an option for you, then prevention should be your motivating force. Grab a pot ASAP they come in a range of prices, Im sure you will have little trouble finding one that suits your budget and need. Some reasonably-priced yet very good brands include Nivea and LOreal.
Heres hoping you will enjoy the results sooner than later.

Dear Mary,
Im in my 60s and I have a tummy and no waistline. How can I dress to cover this?
Sally
Dont tuck in your blouses or use an outfit that has a jacket. There are also waist pinchers and girdles which are a big help.
Mary
Dear Tingting,
I read the Style SOS Feb. 11 issue where you mentioned something about wrinkle fillers like Restylane. I wonder if you could recommend a tried-and-tested doctor who can do this professionally and successfully whether in the Philippines or abroad.
Frances
You can call Dr. Imelda Cervantes at tel. no. 892-1947; D. Vicki Belo or Dr. Eloy Buse at 817-9283 or 817-7178; Dr. Sylvia Huang at 726-6271 or 722-2660.
