MMCOFI partners with BDO Foundation for a series of concerts

MANILA, Philippines - The Metro Manila Concert Orchestra Foundation Inc. (MMCOFI), in partnership with BDO Foundation, Inc. will hold a series of concerts at the Francisco Santiago Hall in BDO Corporate Center in Makati City. MMCOFI handles the Metro Manila Concert Orchestra (MMCO), which is now recognized as one of the best orchestras in the country under Chinggay Diaz Lagdameo as executive director.

The group not only supports the development of appreciation for orchestral music in Metro Manila but also encourages  Filipino musical artists to develop further their skills and create their own compositions. MMCOFI also implements educational programs of cultural development for the youth, particularly in marginalized communities through the dynamics of the musical arts.

With the partnership, BDO Foundation will sponsor the use of the Francisco Santiago  Hall for the planned eight concert series of MMCO starting August 2013 till the first quarter of 2014.  BDO Foundation hopes to provide a venue to bring Filipino culture and arts closer to the community.

Through the concert series, MMCO aims to raise the much-needed funds to maintain the orchestra and achieve its goal of raising awareness of and accessibility towards Filipino classical music.
