A dinner fit for emperors
“Nothing is more important than reconnecting with your bliss. Nothing is as rich. Nothing is more real.” –Deepak Chopra
The palates of the most discriminating food lovers were aroused during “Caligula Night,” a degustation dinner hosted by CVCLaw partners Bienvenido Somera Jr. and Sylvette Tankiang at the impressive Rainmakers Lounge of the CVCLaw Center in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. Complemented with only the best of wines, the Caligula dinner featured 14 exotic dishes feasted upon by the Italian ruling class during the period of Imperial Rome.
The “Caligula Night” is the second of a series of degustation dinners hosted by CVCLaw partners and prepared by Rainmakers Lounge chef Margarita “Gaita” Fores. Gaita painstakingly culled the recipes for the dishes from the 45,000 volumes of recipe books preserved in Casa Artusi, a culinary school in the town of Forlimpopoli, Italy.
The event was well-attended by VIPs including Baby Araneta-Fores, Italian Ambassador Luca Fornari and his wife Silvana, SM Investments Corp. vice chairman Henry Sy Jr., ICCP Group of Companies chairman and chief executive officer Guillermo Luchangco, Chinatrust vice chairman William Go and MAROV Holdings Inc. chairman and president OV Espiritu. Everybody left the gastronomic event in ecstasy. Everyone was eager to participate in the next degustation dinner named “Nero Night!”
Buon appetito!
