Welcome the new season in fashion as the trends for A/W 2010 begin to unfold. One of the key trends to make a sure hit in the months to come is the return to minimalism.
Real clothes (not reel) have paraded the endless runways to celebrate and flatter women. Standout collections of Celine by Phoebe Philo and Chloe by Hannah McGibbon are currently the toast of the scrutinizing eyes of fashion. Minimal chic is the ultimate look now that defines what women really want. No need to worry about the fuss and frills, shape and movement, style and feel because the focus is wearable clothes you don’t need to worry about. The purist appeal evoking modern simplicity at its finest is all that matters right now. The movement towards classicism is seemed irresistibly unstoppable. Womenswear is painting the town red in clean cut chic where less takes more.
After seasons of rock glam craze and warrior mania, there is a natural progression towards the other side of the style spectrum. The new season is taking global fashion to the extreme, either minimalist or maximalist. The biggest trend, though, is restraint with severity. Invest in a lot of tailored or sculpted pieces for your everyday wear. Classic mix-matching ensembles in modern fabrication will last until the seasons to come.
Create a new dimension to your wardrobe by experimenting on a new color palette of camels, grays, browns or even blues while keeping the blacks that aren’t so hot at the moment. The wave towards a refreshing view on elegance need not dazzle and shine.
Make a statement and step forward with a new look this season and always keep in mind the beauty of simplicity.
