MANILA, Philippines — Employees at Malacañang Palace recount strange and eerie stories while working in the presidential residence in a newly released Halloween special.

Radio Television Malacañang and the Presidential Communications Office simultaneously dropped a video aptly named "Malacañang Horror Stories" featuring the experiences of x employees.

Master Sergeant Ramsam Gordo, a presidential guard since 1998, recalled a time while patrolling the palace landing, hearing children's voices coming from the Rizal Hall at 1 a.m., only to find no one there upon checking.

Another time, while stationed at the palace's Gate 4, Gordo spotted three barong-clad men outside the main lobby but when he approached one of them, the latter said there were only two guards stationed there as ordered.

Gordo's last story was about being shown a photo of the main lobby at night and a headless person wearing a barong can be seen.

Eight-year employee Rian Cortel recounted his own experience in the Rizal Hall during a late-night vigil back he was in the housekeeping staff, spotting a couple in white looking out the window and not responding to his questions.

Laylanie de Dios, a Malacañang employee since 2014, shared multiple experiences like a copycat that suddenly disappears, children playing, a priest in maroon on the stairs, marching soldiers and encounters in the Roxas, Quirino and Quezon rooms.

Chef Katrina Matias recalled shadowy men walking down the hallway, including a chef in black — the staff only wears white so her co-workers believe it was a previous chef making his presence felt.

The chef also talked about a nurse watching her as she cooked and the prevalence of doppelgangers, especially during the pandemic.

Another employee, Rhiza Mullet, shared being greeted by a tall waiter in the quadrangle only to find him missing when he disappeared.

According to co-workers, the waiter had died from COVID-19 and because he was such a workaholic, his spirit might not have realized he's passed already.

One more experience she was during a tour, while by the Kalayaan area, jokingly teasing that she and fellow chefs would sit on old presidential chairs but a burly man in the room got mad and approached her. — Video from Radio Television Malacañang's YouTube channel
