SAN JUAN, La Union — Korean singer Kim Tae-hyung, better known as V of the boy band BTS, unveiled that he's been dealing with hearing loss in his right ear for over two years now.

Last August 12, V shared the health problem to BTS fans or Army for the first in a Weverse livestream while the group is in the second part of its sprawling "Arirang" world tour.

"If the hearing in my left ear is at 100, it's only about 30 in my right," the singer said, adding that his hearing began and got worse while he was serving in the military.

V enlisted in December 2023 and was discharged last year, among the last of BTS to fulfill Korea's mandatory military service for able-bodied men.

The artist at first did pay any attention to the issue thinking it was "a matter of mental strength," but now he take medication and regularly visits the hospital.

Fellow BTS member Jungkook joined V on the livestream and shared he'd sustained a shin injury bordering on a stress fracture while on tour, something he needs to manage to continure performing.

The "Arirang" tour is currently set to end with three nights in the Philippines in March 2027. By then it will have been a decade since all of BTS performed in the country together.
