MANILA, Philippines — Actress Sue Ramirez will make her theater debut in The Sandbox Collective's interpretation of "Little Shop of Horrors."

The Sandbox Collective announced that Sue will be alternating as Audrey with singer-actress Karylle Tatlonghari, who has a series of musicals under her belt already.

Also in the cast alternating as Seymour are theater veterans Nyoy Volante and Reb Atadero.

The theater company's most recent production "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" saw the stage debuts of AC Bonifacio, Angela Ken, and Shanaia Gomez.

Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's "Little Shop of Horrors" follows hapless florist shop worker Seymour who raises a plant, which he names after his crush Audrey.  The plant feeds on human blood and flesh.

The musical debuted off-Broadway in 1982, headed to London's West End a year later, but it did not run on Broadway until 2003.

Some familiar names that have performed an itereation of the musical include Jonathan Groff, Anthony Rapp, Joey Fatone, Constance Wu, Evan Rachel Wood, Jeremy Jordan, Sylvester McCoy, Skylar Astin, Corbin Bleu, Maude Apatow, and Filipino-Americans Darren Criss and Conrad Nicamora.

Frank Oz adapted the musical to film in 1986, with Ashman penning the script, starring Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene (reprising her stage role), Steve Martin, Jim Belushi, John Candy, Christopher Guest, Bill Murray, and Miriam Margolyes.

The Sandbox Collective's "Little Shop of Horrors," helmed by Toff De Venecia with musical direction by Ejay Yatco, begins running in Maybank Performing Arts Theater on July 6.
