'Stupid, not worth it': Selena Gomez admits vaping nicotine changed her voice
MANILA, Philippines — Emmy-nominated actress Selena Gomez came forward to address concerns about the change in her voice, admitting it was caused by nicotine vaping.
In an Instagram story uploaded last October 18, the actress shared she could no longer change her voice back to what it was.
"Nicotine is so hard to quit... if you're going through it or even trying to vape, it's just not worth it. It's so stupid," Selena said.
The "Only Murders in the Building" star acknowledged with a laugh it was fine if people do not want to listen to her because of how her voice sounds now, adding that she has already stopped vaping.
"I'm just hoping to keep it up, it's really hard. If you are going through something, you can get through it too... it sucks!" the actress ended.

Selena had attempted to address concerns about her voice changing over the years last December, claiming at the time in a video that her throat "kind of swells inside sometimes."
The actress has been open about her health issues the past decade, which include a lupus diagnosis, kidney transplant, several mental health disorders, and an inability to bear children.
According to the World Health Organization, nicotine is highly addictive and harmful especially for younger individuals whose brains are still developing and increases cardiovascular risk.
Selena is gearing up for the sixth season of "Only Murders in the Building," dubbed "Only Murders in London" because of a new location. She reprises her role in the series that also stars Steven Martin and Martin Short.
