MANILA, Philippines — Beauty queen Imelda Schweighart came up short during the recent inaugural Miss Grand International (MGI) All Stars competition, a contest that came at a personal cost.

Less than a week after the pageant wrapped where Schweighart failed to make the Top 18, the Filipino-German beauty revealed she suffered a miscarriage in the middle of the competition.

Schweighart dedicated social media posts to her partner Rafael Thibault, crediting his support for her pageantry and the other way around for his surfing.

"The beach is waiting. Can't wait to marvel at sunsets watching you play. I love you, dummy!" she said. "Thanks for everything and supporting me from start to finish. From simpler days of just riding in your borrowed motorcycle to building hostels with you. I'm proud to say always, you pick up Noah from school and take him home."

Noah is Schweighart's son with previous partner Chriz Dulagan. The latter photos in the beauty queen's posts also features the mother and son together.

The last part of Schweighart's posts contained the revelation she suffered a miscarriage while participating in MGI All Stars.

"Even though I'm recovering from something big right now, I know we'll get this through," she ended. "Losing our baby might have been the worse out of joining this competition but in God's timing we will have one again."

Schweighart then shared on her Instagram photos a photo of her arm hooked up to an IV line followed by reposts of how some pageant fans reacted to her announcement.

"That's why for me she didn't perform her best... You are a strong woman. I salute you," said one post while another went, "Behind the glamour of the stage was a grieving mother during the cruelest bashing from the world."

The beauty queen did have lighter stories like images of her holding a squirel and a rabbit, assuring in the former "I'm fine everyone, the worse parts are over."

Two other Filipina representatives, Alexia Nuñez and Keylyn Trajano, also failed to make the Top 18 cut of the first MGI All Stars.

Fuschia Anne Ravena did finish in the Top 18 while Gazini Ganados placed in the Top 5. Colombian Miss International and Miss Universe alumna Vanessa Pulgarin won the inaugrual competition.
