Kendra Kramer backs parents Doug, Cheska vs. 'controlling' claims

MANILA, Philippines — Kendra Kramer defended her celebrity parents, Doug and Cheska, from claims that they are "controlling all her life's decisions."
The young model-athlete took to Instagram to post a photo of her family — Doug, Cheska, and younger siblings Scarlett and Gavin — in a Mandaluyong mall alongside a message addressing the issue.
She began by lamenting the hate and negativity being hurled at her family, particularly her parents, making it clear they had no input in what she was sharing to followers.
"I wanted to say how much I love my parents. How amazing they are and how much they support me," Kendra said, crediting her parents' guidance and faith. "Seeing people online bashing such upstanding and amazing figures I look up to in my life makes me extremely sad and frustrated."
Kendra shared that Doug and Cheska had asked her if she really wanted to be in showbiz and modeling, responding in the positive while reiterating they never took advantage of her.
She stressed they were "NOT controlling parents," simply caring ones who "want the best for me and my siblings," even thanking them for introducing her to sports.
"Please do not come out and say my parents are controlling my life, they care about me and I stand by that," Kendra stressed.
Kendra went on to call Doug "the most generous, kind, and protective" and Cheska "the most God-fearing, kind-hearted, and humble" people she knew, labelling them her role models in life.
"They are the happiest, most loving couple I know. I pray one day I may find a relationship like theirs," she continued. "I wish you guys could spend a day in my life and see how amazing they are."
The model-athlete ended her message asking again to stop spreading negativity, reiterating that her parents are "the greatest people I know and I love my family to the bottom of my heart."
Both Doug and Cheska expressed their gratitude for their eldest daughter in the comments section. Celebrities like Iya Villania, Awra Briguela, Hayden Kho,Isabel Oli, Andi Manzano, and Denise Laurel also left encouraging messages.
Anne Curtis left a lengthy comment commending Kendra and her parents, who were lucky to have a daughter like her.
"I know it's hard to drown out the noise but you're right, these people don't know who parents truly are, so honestly no need to explain but anyway, I know it's hard and I probably would do the exact same thing," said Anne. "So proud of the young lady you've become. Big big hug! Love you."
