Circle of Blood

A couple of weeks ago, Raam Ben Schlomo, an Israeli tourist who had been staying in Boracay for more than two months, was walking with his girlfriend, Shani. It was an early Sunday morning when an unidentified person suddenly stabbed him in the back. Authorities said it was not about money since nothing was stolen. Rather, it was a crime of passion.

Whatever it was, the reality of murder has finally reached our shores. Most of us foreigners who live on the island really exist in a fantasy. We spend our days seeking nourishment for our souls, making ourselves completely available to life, simply doing what it was we felt like doing.
