Castaway in paradise

It could just be another small fishing village at the end of the world. It is undeveloped and unspoiled, and that’s the magic of it. Yet it is safe, clean, and its 400 or so inhabitants are very friendly. They go about their daily chores with no electricity; bathe and wash their clothes with rainwater or from a deep well; drinking water is brought in by banca from a nearby island; and they haven’t got a clue what ConAss or SARS mean. The kids have the whole world as their playground – fine white sand beach and crystal clear waters, counting seashells and bottle caps, building sandcastles, sailing off to unchartered territory only their imaginations could limit. It’s the kind of laid-back place you wouldn’t mind being stranded in forever.
