I said 'I do' in an Inno

- Sofia Zobel-Elizalde -

MANILA, Philippines - I first met Inno 17 years ago when I was planning one of the biggest moments of my life: my wedding day. Like most  brides, the first thought that came to my mind was my gown  and the second thought was only one name: “Inno Sotto.” I never considered anyone else; I knew without a doubt I had made the right choice. He made me a gown that was designed without one bead on it; its simplicity was uncommon at the time, which is what made it very special. To this day, people still mention to me how they remember that design. He was not afraid to be simple yet different, and this was the start of our very special friendship.

Since then, I have rarely worked with any other designer. I have full trust in him. Apart from his incredible talent, he is always a gentleman. No matter how harassed or hectic his life is at that given moment (which is most of the time!), he is always calm and collected during our fittings. I have no idea how he manages that; he makes every woman feel special and he quietly finds time for all of us. His conversation is always interesting and fun. He admires women and respects each one for who they are. He makes us feel special.

I am so grateful to Inno for all the elegant and timeless pieces he has made for me during the years. One day I look forward to my daughters wearing them, too. Inno is a gift to us, a true artist and a friend. It is an honor to wear his creations and I truly wish him all the best on his 30th anniversary.
