What’s your all-time favorite Filipino song?

WORDS WORTH  - Mons Romul -

A lot of our Filipino songs have become great classics and no matter which generation listens, they will definitely fall in love with the music. Take  Freddie Aguilar’s Anak,  which was translated in more than 26 languages and released in 56 countries. We  should be proud of our great musical talent.

CHRISTIAN BAUTISTA: Ugoy ng Duyan, very classic Filipino, melodic and meaningful.  It’s a song that always moves me.

PILITA CORALES,  Asia’s Queen of Song: Ang Tangi Kong Pag-ibig because it has beautiful lyrics and its meaning is very deep. It’s one of the favorite songs that I recorded.

DANNY JAVIER: Ang Pipit  by Levi Celerio. Malalim, malaman at pangkaraniwang tao.

BO CERRUDO: That would be OPM of the 1970s, and my favorite from that era is Lupa, which was sang by Rico J. Puno — truly inspiring and enlightening.

BITUIN ESCALANTE:  APO and Yoyoy Villame’s music.  Nothing like intelligent lyrics.

VERNIE VARGA OLEDAN: Ugoy ng Duyan. The melody line itself conveys the purest emotion. And simply because the song talks about a child who treasures each moment with her mother. We all know the importance of our mothers in our lives.

Now that I am a mother,  I would like my children to feel the same way.

OGIE ALCASID: Kapantay ay Langit and Buhat.  These were the first songs I learned as a child.

YENG CONSTANTINO:  Eraserheads in general because yun ang kinalakihan ko.

ISAY ALVAREZ:  I tend to get high and sentimental with songs like Hindi Kita Malimot, Maalaala Mo Kaya, Lagi Kitang Naaalala.

ROBERT SENA:  I consider kundiman my all-time favorite and the music of Gary Granada.
