It’s show time with Dior Gloss Show

Having been used to semi-matte lipsticks, I’m not usually a fan of lip gloss. But I’ll take exception to Dior’s Gloss Show range, which I recently tried.

Inspired by the world’s most famous runway models getting made up at a John Galliano show, Dior came up with the DiorShow Makeup Backstage Collection, featuring lip glosses in six different shades:

Sofia Silver (005) is sheer with a silvery white shimmer; Lindsay Pink (355) is candy pink with pink shimmer; Rebecca Red (755) is a gorgeous fuchsia with fuchsia shimmer; Karolina Beige (325) is nude with silver shimmer; Polina Blue (205) is a frosted blue snowstorm swirling on your lips; and Jenny Orange (235) is the most mouthwatering gloss of all.

Favored by top runway models all over, this high-shine gloss can be used over a favorite lipstick, or alone.

It comes in a little, clear square pot with a tiny brush that can go anywhere in your bag.

I loved how Karolina Beige brushed over my usual satin lipstick gave it a more dramatic look.

Lindsay Pink used alone gave a sparkly nude effect on my lips.

Because it’s one of the most sparkling lip glosses on the market, it was designed for dotting by fingertip – a favorite technique of makeup pros. Glitter may get into your mouth, so use only a small amount.

Still, I couldn’t help but cover my lips with it. I love that small brush.

Applying Gloss Show to your lips gives a slight tingling sensation, which tells me there’s a lip-plumping effect in there.

Dior’s makeup artists suggest layering two different shades of Gloss Show. Start by applying the darker shade on both lips, then dot the lighter shade in the middle.

At night you can create red-carpet glamour by coloring in lips with lip liner, then slicking on Gloss Show over the top.

Because Gloss Show is spiked with sparkles, you must take care to remove all glitter particles after use.

As much as I tried to wipe it off with tissue, glitter particles were left on my chin. Water didn’t work either, but wet wipes did the trick. After wiping gently over my skin, it was gone.
