'Adopt don't shop': Jodi Sta. Maria promotes spaying, neutering, adopting strays
MANILA, Philippines — Actress Jodi Sta. Maria takes on a proactive role in spreading awareness on the importance of spaying and neutering cats and dogs, as well as adopting the stray ones so they may have their "forever homes."
Using her platform as a popular celebrity, the star of the upcoming action-revenge series "Lavender Fields" raised awareness on spaying, neutering and adopting strays through an X (formerly Twitter) post yesterday.
Jodi said that she has joined the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) awareness campaign.
"As someone who grew up rescuing animals, I am encouraging you all to open up your hearts and home to a dog or cat who’s been waiting to find their forever home," Jodi wrote on X.
The actress is known for adopting strays. One of her adoptive fur babies is Naia, an orange cat she found while at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. She also recently adopted a stray dog named Zandro.
"Having my rescued animals Naia and Zandro has truly changed my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way... Let’s do our part in addressing the animal homelessness crisis in our country," the actress shared.
I am thrilled to share this campaign with PETA to raise awareness on the importance of adopting, spaying and neutering of our dear companion animals!
