Katrina Halili gets emotional recalling her struggles as single mother
MANILA, Philippines — Actress Katrina Halili was moved to tears when she and fellow "StarStruck" alum Sheena Halili talked about her struggles as a single mother.
Katrina also opened up about the current state of her relationship with ex-partner Kris Lawrence, the father of her only child, Katie.
“Kumusta ka? Blooming ka,” Sheena told Katrina, which she answered, "Oh talaga?"
“Siguro kasi na-forgive mo na,” Sheena replied.
Despite sharing the same surname, the two actresses are not related by blood.
“Ay, oo. The fact na kinakausap ko na siya, na-forgive na siya,” Katrina answered.
Katrina became emotional when she admitted that there were times when she felt guilty because she did not spend enough time with her daughter.
“Marami akong napapanaginipan last year. Nagso-sorry ako kay Katie. Wala akong time, ganyan,” Katrina said.
"Okay lang ‘yun. Ngayon lang tayo nagkita. Magkuwento ka na,” Sheena replied.
Katrina continued: “Kaya ko in-open na okay na kasi dati kapag nagkikita kami, nod lang ganu’n oh. Umaalis na ako. Hindi ko siya pinapansin.”
"Minsan nga umaalis pa tayo kapag parating na siya. ‘Tara na, tara na. Umalis na tayo,’” Sheena said.
Kris recently admitted that he is now courting Katrina again and is hoping for a second chance.
In an interview, Kris said that he will not waste the "second chance" that Katrina gave him, especially being Katie's father.
“I’m very, very grateful that she kept me in the decision that we’re co-parenting a hundred percent and everything is so beautiful right now. Napansin namin 'yung smile ni Katie, a big shift. Katie’s smile is so much better, it’s so genuine. It almost feels like she does not have autism. I believe it’s because the energy is all back and it’s all whole now," he said.
“Now she feels love from both parents. I’m there every single day. She sees that me and Kat are happy. The fact that me and Kat are happy, it trickles down to her and it makes her feel secured and loved. The magnitude is just phenomenal,” he added.
