ForMe goes green with reforme
MANILA, Philippines — It’s no secret that the fashion industry is one of the contributors to warming the planet with the amount of waste that it produces year after year. Brands from around the world, even top fashion houses, have been taking steps to reduce their carbon footprint by being conscious of their practices, as well as using more environmentally friendly materials.
Lucky for us and for the planet, local brand ForMe is joining the bandwagon, becoming more sustainable by way of their latest collection: Reforme. The female-forward brand truly wants you to change the way you think about shopping as the collection puts a spotlight on natural fabrics like linen and lyocell that are eco-friendly and completely biodegradable. Linen is a natural fiber made from flax; it makes for a sturdy product.
Lyocell, on the other hand, is also a sustainable and breathable fabric with botanic origins. Another part of the collection is their denim range. We know what you’re thinking: denim requires huge amounts of water, energy and raw materials for it to be produced. Well, you’ll be delighted to know that ForMe worked with upcycled denim in order to cut back on any unsustainable practices.
For the brand, it all boils down to versatility in the way we can incorporate these pieces into our existing wardrobe. That is why the collection features basic and timeless pieces that you can wear season after season. Think tops, dresses, bottoms, outerwear, accessories and shoes all donning a relaxed and effortless charm. With summer just around the corner it’ll be easier to stay and feel cool with the new fabric variants available in such classic silhouettes.
With Reforme as its first step towards sustainable fashion, ForMe is committed to finding ways to source sustainable fabrics and create mindfully crafted garments that stay true to the brand’s mission, which is to make fashion easy for stylish women.
