So far, 2018 has been the year of the celebrity makeup line — a highlighter here, a lipstick there — but not Claudia Schiffer’s. Until now, that is. The '90s supermodel’s limited-edition Claudia Schiffer Makeup is here, and it’s a full line. The 11 products now available in Beauty Bar stores all have that editorial potential, whether you’re going for full-on bombshell like her Bardot smokey eye and creamy red lip combo for her iconic Guess campaigns or something more subdued but just as hot with an all-over bronzy flush, like the one she always had as the face of Chanel.
Schiffer always gave credit to the transformative power makeup had on her, so celebrating her 30th year in the industry with a complete collection developed with German makeup brand Artdeco informed by decades of pro tips from the makeup chair was just perfect. Expect items inspired by some of her most unforgettable looks.
Now, Schiffer was all about the smokey eye, applied all the way to the brow bone, whatever the color. The Quad Eye Shadow palette comes in three shades — Pretzel nudes, peachy Beachy, and the bold blues of Denim — all with a cream-meets-powder formula that makes application and blending a breeze — perfect for those sticking to their '90s guns, dabbing with their fingertips. The Liquid Eye Liner in Black Cab is not to be missed by fans of that Claudia smolder: it’s a true black with a velvety, matte finish, smudge-proof, waterproof, and comes with a slanted felt pen tip that’s not just a nostalgic feature but something that brings ease and versatility. It can be used for the waterline — it’s just not the ’90s without it. There are two mascaras — Luxurious Volume and Super Long Lash — both only in black, of course. Her Eye Brow Styler is a triangle-shaped crayon, angled to fill brows and hold it with its wax-based texture.
Skin makeup is all satin-finish. Her Perfect Skin Foundation has four shades while Cream Concealer has three. I recommend checking out the No Colour Setting Powder; buffed all over the face, the effect is like having a beauty light or a reflector on set. The Illuminator is in no way glittery, only glowy, and comes in one rosy shade. The Contouring Powder, Tan Lines, is a bronzy shade with no hints of that dreaded orange. Hyaluronic acid is the ingredient that makes the three blush shades extra smooth on the skin, making application foolproof.
The five shades of lipstick featuring colors like her signature bright poppy reds and coral nudes are all pigmented and creamy as are the two pink shades of lip gloss, packed with proprietary lip-plumping formulas, Hyaluronic Filling Spheres and Collageneer. Nail polish is the finishing touch — one in a cool-toned beige and another in a peachy beige, both shiny and glossy.
