Women will rise to power in the Year of the Earth Dog

The Year of the Earth Dog will be one in which people become more aware of imbalances of power and seek to adjust them. For women, it means that their rights in society will now be better recognized.

“I think it was never about the gender, but one’s capability. This year, more women will rise into power — not just in politics. There will be more lady CEOs,” said Kevin Foong, one of the most sought-after professional feng shui and Bazi consultants globally.

According to Foong, this energy started in October last year.

“Singapore already elected its first female President, Madam Halimah Yacob. Although the power still lies in the Prime Minister, having a woman president is a good sign of better things to come. Also now we are actually starting to leverage on the other 50 percent of the society.”

Foong, chief executive officer of Singapores largest web hosting firm HostSG, was in the country recently to conduct feng shui and Bazi seminars at the New Port Performing Arts Center, Resorts World Manila.

Unfortunately for Vice President Leny Robredo, luck is not on her side this year.

“Vice President Robredo has the Dragon sign in her Bazi chart, which clashes with the Dog. In terms of her career, bad luck has befallen her since Oct. 27, 2017,” shared Foong. “She needs to restructure things in a more transparent manner. Stop the blame game. Stop talking about the wrong things other people did for the country. Instead, she should focus on the things she wants to push for.”

In terms of health, the Vice President should watch out for colon and stomach problems.

“I don’t know the Vice President personally, but I’m sure she’s aware of her stomach problems,” added Foong, while fiddling with his cellphone.

He then showed me VP Robredo’s Bazi chart and pointed to the Dragon sign.

“The Bazi chart aids feng shui experts like me to make personalized predictions,” explained Foong. “Bazi is the information derived from the year, month, day and time of your birth.”

The usual way that feng shui masters go about this is just by looking at the 12 animal zodiac signs.

“While it has around 25 to 30 percent accuracy, the animal signs cannot account for everybody,” he added.

For example, some people who are born in the Year of the Snake, which is one of the top (prosperous) animal signs in 2018, will not do well this year — simply because not all of them share the same birthday.

“In feng shui, when we diagnose astrology on destiny, we always start with the birthday, because it’s the closest element to us; it is there for a reason. It is there for us to open up and see what’s the road ahead for that particular person,” he explained.

Just by knowing a person’s birthday — the month, day and time — Foong can actually read/predict your destiny.

According to Foong, his team spent 300,000 Singapore dollars to develop the technology — something called the Bazi calculator — which can plot your chart in seconds.

“The Bazi chart has been there for years, it’s general knowledge. But not everyone understands its full logic and algorithm,” he explained. “With the help of the Bazi chart, you can plan your life daily.”

For example, every day there’s a different energy. And your personal Bazi chart can actually warn you if it’s going to be a stressful day at work based on the elements present.

“The elements on your chart are there to tell you why,” added Foong who is known for his highly accurate Bazi reading that predict events and helps his clients make important life decisions on wealth, health and relationship, as well as his feng shui techniques that are believed to bring prosperity to his clients.

What the year of the Earth Dog brings?

Kevin Foong shares more of what the Year of the Earth Dog brings to President Duterte, US President Donald Trump, #MeToo advocate Oprah Winfrey and life in general.

• President Rodrigo Duterte. There will be a shakeup in the President’s Cabinet. President Rodrigo Duterte should be more careful on certain policies. If there are cover-ups, these will blow up in their faces. The cleanup should start with the President’s Cabinet. Transparency is key.

Year 2018 is a good year for the President. He should push for the train modernization program. There will be attempts to impeach him but the people behind it will not prosper. “Your President is not a greedy person, that’s why the opposition is having a hard time to get the people’s support.”

In terms of his health, he should watch out for stomach problems.

• National security. ISIS will still be a problem. In terms of the West Philippine Sea, the Philippines should not give up everything just for the sake of economic growth. The keyword is “compromise.” “Your President is smart. He knows what is required for the Philippines. And a war doesn’t benefit anyone. The Philippines simply can’t win a war against China.”

• Natural calamities to watch out for. There will be earthquakes. And since we can’t predict when it will happen, what the government can do is come up with a contingency plan to minimize its effects. “From May to November, we are looking at Mars and Saturn in conjunction closely. What it means is that there will be a series of explosions, violence and terrorists events, which could catch the government unaware.”

• Business. Water-based industries will be greatly affected. Businesses such as shipping, water products, and companies selling fast-moving consumer products like shampoo and body washes will be in for a challenging time.

Agriculture, public relations, publication, education and the marketing sectors will experience growth but it will be very competitive. “Think out of the box. Capitalize on social media, sell your products on Facebook or do Google marketing.”

Those in the construction, real estate and insurance business will have steady growth because these are Earth elements.

Slow but gradual recovery is expected in banking, while technology, food and beverage and the media will continue to flourish.

• US President Donald Trump. President Trump will get to finish his term. But he should pay attention to a particular group who will harshly go against him. In terms of the economy, the US is not back on track yet. It will slightly improve in 2018.

• Oprah Winfrey. Foong mentioned that women will rise to power in 2018. So I asked if Oprah Winfrey has a shot at the US presidency. “Well, if Donald Trump became president, then anything is possible. I think Oprah would do a better job than Trump.”
