We’ll Miss Shu

RATED A - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - You may have already heard by now, but if not, well, we’ll be the bearers of bad news: Shu Uemura has left the country. All good things come to an end, but we’re hoping it’ll go out with a bang (aka a mega clearance sale?!). You know what they say: don’t mourn the end, be happy that all these life-changing cult beauty products happened to us, so take your last chance to grab the best of them — unless you’re shopping for Shu overseas.

Cleansing Oil

The makeup remover to end all makeup removers, the cleansing oil is every makeup addict’s bathroom staple. Not only does it melt waterproof mascara sans residue, it also doesn’t need abrasive cloths or exfoliators or require you to tug at your skin to remove every last inch of your foundation or longwear liners.

Hard 9 Brow

Many have fallen in love with the ultra-versatile brow pencil — its pencil format (that you bring to the counter to get resharpened) draws on subtly so you can build up the thickness of your brows, its two edge lets you create soft or precise edges, and the hard formula lets you love it long time.

Maison Kitsune

While the brand is known for their ultra-cute packaging, their collaboration with fashion house Kitsune is one of our faves because fashen! And also, how sleek is the packaging and how adorable are the little foxes? And that’s only the bonus feature because what’s in the tubes and bottles is just as good.

Eyelash Curler

Ah, crowd fave! Nobody knows how mechanisms of this curler differ from all the others, but if it curls and stays, we’ll keep it. Toss in along with it the S-Curler, which crimps any forgotten edges of your lashes if your eyes are too wide for a normal curler.

Lightbulb Foundation and Sponge

A foundation launch that everybody got excited over, and with good reason: it truly just gave you a glow. Plus, it has a sexy, poofy little sponge that can go into the crevices of your face, making sure there was no caking or creasing. After all, the heart of the brand is awesome skin.

Shupette

The brand’s Japanese, so the sky’s the limit for anything kawaii, and this collection truly was that. A collab with Karl Lagerfeld —well, Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette — it featured the fluffy feline’s “aesthetic” on all its packaging.
