Inspired by how the world is becoming very irrational, Miuccia’s collection leaves behind a hint of confusion to the naked eye. The lineup involves dream pieces, retro references and erratic colors. With the clash of patterns, colors and fabrics comes topsy-turvy layering — Miu Miu’s signature style. Nothing says Miu Miu like its quirky accessories. A selection of fur stoles with tails and footwear were one of the highlights of the show that went down the runway. Each piece is considered a must-have for our YStyle woman.

Nails: Shattered Glass

Break the Internet with these shattered nails — literally.

It was Park Eun Kyung, owner of Unistella Salon in Seoul, who developed the manicure trend that has gone viral all over social media. Inspired by the iridescent shell of the Abalone sea snail, the nail art trend is made out of stickers that are layered one atop the other to create a textured glass effect. The early versions of her creation started out with cellophane candy wrappers, which she had to cut up and apply to each nail; but this ended up being too stiff. She then resorted to holographic film, which gave her better results.

Achieve your own glass nails by gluing cellophane that’s cut up into different sizes to mimic shattered glass. Top it all off with a clear topcoat for a unique, glistening hue.

Muse: Barbara Steele

If it’s a scream queen that you’re after then Barbara Steele’s name is one that you should remember.

Best known for starring in Italian gothic horror films in the 1960s, it was her role in Black Sunday that sealed her place in the horror hall of fame. Unlike most actresses who played damsels in distress, Steele’s roles embodied the wicked side of women. Throughout her career, Barbara appeared in dozens of horror films like Nightmare Castle, The Horrible Dr. Hitchcock and Castle Blood, always playing the role of evil temptresses.

With her long dark hair and majestic presence, this gothic horror queen is a muse that you need to zero in on.

Accommodations: Hotel Chelsea

Home to legendary artists and rock ‘n’ roll scenesters like Jackson Pollock, Bob Dylan, Andy Warhol and Madonna, the Chelsea is a New York landmark that’s both historic and (we hear) haunted.

While the hotel is closed for renovation, it is said that many tenants and employees have experienced paranormal activities in this famous hotel. One of the famed ghosts is the Sex Pistols’ very own Sid Vicious who was accused of murdering his girlfriend Nancy Spungen, 20 years old at the time, in the hotel. Poet and writer Dylan Thomas is also said to haunt the hallways of the Chelsea and even has a dedicated plaque on the outside of the building.

Despite its supernatural occurrences, Hotel Chelsea remains a character all its own that zings with rock and art.

BEAUTY: Marni spring 2016

Step up your lash game with these spider-like-effect falsies.

Makeup artist Tom Pecheux created a black widow look on his models at Marni with these excessively long false lashes. If you’re running out of ideas for this Halloween there’s no better way to stand out than with weird makeup.

To achieve this look, be sure to have your individual lashes, lash glue and tweezers ready. Start off by applying glue to the tail end of your tweezers and begin dipping the individual lash onto the glue. Be sure to wait a couple of seconds until the glue starts to get tacky. This ensures that the adhesive will dry quicker once it makes contact with your lash line. Carefully place the lash onto your lash line by following the natural curve of your lashes. Wait till the glue dries before you start off with the next lash — then, voila, you’re done!

Film: Sisters

Brian De Palma is known for directing the ‘80s cult classic Scarface but what changed the course of his career from documentaries and comedies was the film Sisters. The film, considered an homage to Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho, stars Margot Kidder as Danielle, a model, and her deranged, detached Siamese twin Dominique. Jennifer Salt plays Grace, an investigative journalist who looks into the twins’ background after she sees Dominique stab Danielle’s partner. Throughout the film De Palma plays around with audience expectations, an approach one would come to expect from this director. Consider this picture addictive times two. Music video: Grimes

With her eagerly awaited album “Art Angels” set to be released on Nov. 6, Grimes premieres her self-directed two-part video for her tracks Flesh Without Blood and Life in the Vivid Dream.

The singer plays different roles in the video and is first seen dressed in Marie Antoinette ensemble, next as a cowboy angel, a Zorro-like man and a futuristic gamer the next. Grimes took charge of directing, writing and editing the video. She even took on the role of the cinematographer.
