MANILA, Philippines - Mix and mismatch — this season, we’re piling it on thick. After all, sweater weather feels (and looks) much, much better when leather and feather are thrown into the mix. From dyed fur coats worn over fully sequined turtlenecks to chunky knit sock and velvet platform combos, fall’s textured trends have us getting all touchy-feely. Playful prints and unapologetically bold hues also get in on the fashion action, resulting in layered looks that are equal parts chic and cheeky. Choose your own adventure: wear just one (as in Christian Dior, where an ankle-length lemon and lime double breasted wool coat is worn singly on the runway) or wear ‘em all at once (like the eccentric Gucci girl, with her cuffed geometric-print wool jacquard coat, thick-rimmed glasses, chiffon pussy bow blouse, fur-lined loafers, and striped pompom topper). Whichever way you spin it, taking on the modern maximalist style will definitely brighten up the mood... and the room.
