Into the blue

READ MY LIPSTICK - Regina Belmonte - The Philippine Star

Mermaids are definitely the supernatural creature du jour. With mermaid swimming lessons still picking up and Dyesebel soon to be making a comeback on our television screens (we at YStyle are hoping for our girl Anne Curtis’s speedy recovery from that box jellyfish sting), this summer is all about the siren. Look hot in cool blues, and pick up some makeup inspiration from the enchanting mermaids of myth.

The deep blue sea

The simplest way to wear blue this summer is to apply it in place of your usual black winged liner. A subtle but effective pop of color.

Tip the scales

Nothing gives skin a luminous glow like well-placed, pearlescent highlighter. Apply it in a C-shape, from along your brow bone (right under the outer corner of your brow), and on top of your cheekbones, to enhance bone structure and make you look radiant.

Washed out to sea

If you’re looking to incorporate color into your eye looks this season, blue is definitely the color to wear. Apply it as a wash of cobalt along creases, blending into white as it comes closer to your lash line. Tightline eyes with black pencil and top off lashes with mascara.

Deep water

Your eyes are your canvas. Play around with various

ocean-inspired shades, from deep navy to bright aqua, and blend with shimmering gold to create contrast and highlight.
