COMPILED - Cai Subijano - The Philippine Star

Girls on ‘Girls’

MANILA, Philippines - So, the two people I’ve Googled most on this planet appeared in the trailer for season three of Girls and my mind imploded. Okay, it was kind of a given that Lena Dunham would be in it (duh), but J.Crew’s Jenna Lyons?! I die. My #lifepeg for life. I love that she’s super snarky in the trailer too: “I see you’ve found the snack room, as well,” she says after Hannah dumps an armload of fruits, sandwiches and candy bars onto their table. Oh, and in case you’re still invested, Audrey Gelman, Lena’s BFF, recently came to her defense after the latter was accused of being a hypocrite for calling out singer R. Kelly on his “predatory behavior” when last year, she agreed to have her photo taken by the pervert Terry Richardson for GQ. “Re: Terry photos, @lenadunham tried to see the good I saw in someone and we both have regrets,” Audrey tweeted. “The online discourse on these issues is vital and pushes us forward every day.” Regardless of how you splice it, we hope that you only agree on one thing: No matter how talented these men are, R. Kelly is a pedophile and Terry Richardson is a creep.

Dazed goes digital

Business of Fashion exclusively reported on their website last week that Dazed & Confused would be cutting down on its print editions and limiting it to just six issues a year, while continuing to build their online audience on DazedDigital.com. The plans will be implemented during the first half of 2014. “We have finally moved from being a print publisher to being a digital-first publisher,” Jefferson Hack, founder and editorial director of Dazed Group, told BoF. “Print is still a massive part of our business, but we think of it as existing in a digital paradigm.” With reports that videos will account for roughly 70 percent of Internet consumer traffic by 2017, the  company will also be exploring video production, having launched Dazed Vision last month. “The video revolution reminds me of the photography revolution in the late 1990s and early 2000s,” said Hack. “But it’s not a volume game for us. We are taking our time. We are interested in truly independent storytellers who have a vision that supports our ethos.” If all goes well, they’re expecting up to one million unique visitors to DazedDigital.com every month within the first quarter of 2014.

Designed by Bynes

In what we’re attributing to a Christmas miracle, Amanda Bynes has moved back in with her parents and is enrolled in two classes at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, which counts Lauren Conrad as one of their esteemed alumni. A year ago, she told InTouch magazine that she had plans of becoming a full-time designer. “I love Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s clothing line, Elizabeth and James, and I love how Justin Bieber dresses. My line will be a mixture of sick styles, and it’s going to be for everybody,” she said. Mind you, this was also during the period when she announced that she wanted to become a rapper. Regardless, we’re happy she’s recovering. She was released from The Canyon, a 120-acre rehab center in Malibu, last month after being diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Though The Canyon generally treats patients recovering from substance abuse, Bynes tested positive for no other drugs, except marijuana, and was allowed to stay at the center while receiving treatment from outside physicians — a deal that usually doesn’t fly if you aren’t a celeb, but hey, everybody gets help in their own way.
