Rock the runway

Cai Subijano - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Style Origin Ambassadors who walked the runway last Friday gave us the low-down on their experience.

“I do hair shows and it’s always my principle that when you are up there, you own the stage! It’s fun to be in your moment!”

—Alex Carbonell, celebrity stylist and salon owner, in Cotton On

“It was good! Not something we do too much because we’re busy with football, but it’s nice to get away and do a bit of modeling. Plus, there’s a lot of pretty girls here, so yeah, it was good.”

—Simon Greatwich, Azkals, in Sebago

“It was fine. It’s the first time for me to do this, so it was fun. I wasn’t nervous. It was an experience.”

—Junior de Morga, Azkals, in Sebago

“It was fun, actually. It was my second time on the catwalk.”

—Dario Dakic, Azkals, in Sebago

“Oh, it was a lot of fun! The clothes were nice, they fit well. The bag’s nice too, and the shoes were comfortable.”

—Nate Burkey, Azkals, in Sebago

“The walk was so quick, I didn’t have time to be nervous! It was my first time to walk the runway as a model. I’ve always liked the idea of mixing non-models with pros — it makes the audience relate more to the clothes.”

—JC Buendia, designer, in Calvin Klein Jeans

“It was great, actually, because it’s a different experience: I got to work with community models, together with the professional models. I was also with the other ambassadors of Style Origin, so it’s a great honor for me. I enjoyed it so much. I’m hoping that (Ayala) can do this again next year because I had a great time.”

—Jerome Lorico, designer, in Topman

“It was fun, actually. I was a bit nervous yesterday, but we were dancing a few minutes before we came out, so it was really fun. It’s an experience.”

—Ito Kish, furniture designer, in Zara

“It was nerve-wracking because it’s my first time. But it's a good experience because they took care of us, everything was set up for us, especially the fittings. Now I know how it feels to be a model! But I’d rather be a designer na lang — mas madali!”
